“I have just installed the Eckla Canoe Port on the wall of my garage so that I can store my canoe on it. This product has some shortcomings. a) It is designed so that the arms can swivel out of the way when not in use. But there is no locking mechanism to stop the arms swiveling when you are trying to put a canoe onto the rack. The arms are free to swivel sideways so that they are not in the right position to take the weight of the canoe. So putting a canoe onto the rack is very difficult. I put a strap between the arms to stop them swiveling away from each other but that does not stop them swiveling towards each other. I think this is a terrible design fault. b) The quality of the fittings are not great. One of the plastic dome pieces that go over the end of the rack tubing split in two while I was fitting it. c) The fittings supplied are not good. The instructions say to use an 8mm drill bit for the supplied wall plugs but the wall plugs are really too small for the screws provided which make screwing in the screws nearly impossible. I used bigger diameter wall plugs which made it possible to screw the screws fully home. I would not buy this rack again and it is not worth the price it is sold for. If the arms were lockable, the components better quality and the right size fittings provided then it would be a useful canoe storage rack. Geoff”

“An excellent piece of equipment, very easy to install and supports our Pelican Potomac 14.6 Canadian canoe. Arrived very quickly after order. The only slight issue was there were some very small chips in the paint, but Escape Watersports dealt with my concern very quickly and offered a partial refund (I did not want a replacement unit as I needed it in use quickly). Overall, really good and only the slight damage that prevents this being a 5-star review of the product.”

“Looking for a Canoe support for to store wooden canoe flat on hull. This wwast the only one I found that was wisde enough to allow it not to be store on side. Received on time and worked.”
