“Tried to quit smoking and went for a box mod with a sub ohm tank. I found 6mg Nic (Nicotine) wasn’t enough and any higher Nic in a sub ohm wasn’t going down well. I found in those stressful situations I would end up lighting up a light cigarette rather than toking the box mod for ages.
(For the purpose of this review the name of the box mod won’t be mentioned. the tank has won vapers over and is a Mesh coil and is the top 3 tank according to many websites)
I was told to try MTL (Mouth To Lung) but didn’t want to carry a pen around.
I was told to try the SMOK Nord a compact pod system.
After reading reviews and the issues people had ie leaking I wasn’t too keen. However, the people around me who personally use the SMOK Nord wouldn’t stop harping about it and said they had no issues. The DL (Direct Lung) coil and the MTL coil that comes with the Nord giving the user choices and flexibility
My rationale was if I wanted a DL vape I already had a box mod. It’s the Nic that I needed.
I was also told the Aspire AVP was also a good choice. The fact the Wattage can be adjusted between 3 preset settings. And the pods are pretty much leak proof because of the design and the spring action inside the filling chamber which stops the liquid coming back out.
I then started to dig deeper around the draw and if it’s comparable to smoking a cig. The thing I am trying to replace.
The Nord came out to have a looser draw. The AVP tighter but the Caliburn the tightest.
I chose not to follow the crowd. With the Nord and AVP and went for the Caliburn
The Caliburn is long but slim and good metal build quality. The draw on it is tight and the fact I can vape Nic salts with high VG (too much PG makes me cough a lot) is an added bonus.
I find the flavour for a pod is more than decent. It shouldn’t leak (one of my pods started leaking from the bottom after a few days. I put that down to a bad batch the second one has been fine but I’m only 3 days in)
The battery can be bigger but then the device size will be compromised. I did find it got me through a work day easily.
It would be nice to have a variable wattage on the device. But that’s only because I probably miss blowing big massive clouds sometimes.
I have found in one week I’ve had the device I haven’t lit up and at times I did want to but I am thinking perhaps I should experiment with a higher Nic salt. I went for the 10mg to play it safe might try the 20mg Nic salt next
Overall I am very happy. I found something that feels the closest to a cigarette the clouds feel like the amount I get from a cigarette. The size of the device is pocket friendly. The option of Nic salts I can get are now open to me.
PS You get two pods in the kit in total. I was expecting it to have only one.”
“Where can I start? This is an amazing device!!! Never leaks, comes with 2 pods that last around a month Jesus!! The value for money is absolutely amazing! Amazing durability too, cannot fault this device love love love it.”
“One of the best vape pods ever created. The top fill pod system design is very smart considering the leaking is minimised. The flavour in the best considering pod systems. A very useful tool for staying away from the stinkies. Highly recommended for beginners and those looking to use NicSalt.”
“I'd heard very good things about the Caliburn and thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it (and it seems to leak a lot). It does what it says on the tin but it's not for me.”
“Really small and light device, well made and charges fast. Amazing how much flavor and vapor this small stick can produce aswell with the pods.
I liked it so much I already have 4 of them to quickly change flavors without swapping the pods.
And it's cheap, compared to other tanks and mods you could buy 3-4 of these.
As I have several of these I don't have to charge them till the end of the day as I do chain vape on these.
It's my all day use device.”
