“Normally I use compression socks but I received a pair of Merino Trainer Socks and thought I would give them a try.
In my trail shoes they felt very comfortable and although I didn't run a very long distance in them, there was no itching/rubbing so I would be happy to wear them for any of my runs.
When I did wear them it was raining and again, there was no rubbing or itchyness so will look to getting some more pairs in the future.
Price is not bad in comparison to other socks of similar ilk either”
“A freebie in a race goody bag. Really pleased, snug fit has remained after several washes, they stay put and are warm but I don't end up with wet, sweaty feet. Would buy these in future.”
“Like many runners, I've got even more pairs of socks than I have pairs of running shoes - and that's a lot of socks. The best thing I can say about these is that I'm not aware that I'm wearing them. They don't chafe, they aren't uncomfortable when wet and they don't stink when I take them off after a long run. I don't want miracles from my running socks, I just want them to be comfy and unobtrusive. These socks tick the boxes perfectly - I wonder why others find it so hard to get the simple things right.
As a qualification; I didn't buy these socks, they came in the goody bag from the SBU35. However, I will buy more in the future. I just wish that the ultra organisers had given us the socks before the race - would have saved me a blister or two!”
