SOX lamps are a range of monochromatic low pressure sodium discharge lamps, and provide a warm orange/yellow light. Used mainly in road and street lighting because of it radiates light in the most effective part of the visible spectrum and provides the highest level of efficency at up to 183 Lumens per watt, the downside being that thet have a very poor colour rendering and most objects as various shades of grey. This version is 90 Watts with a BC (BY22D) style cap, the glass being clear and tubular in construction
