“I am responding to your reminder to respond to my experience of parking at the mid stay parking at Edinburgh Airport
Arriving at 4am and on my own with hand luggage that was not wheeled, I was not happy with my parking experience for a number of reasons A) I presumed that the terminal would be very near or a bus would take me from the numbered stations around the car park … wrong B) On arrival at what I thought was the bus stop with a number 2 above it I noted the poster which informed me that it was a pay station and that no buses stopped there C) I then had no clear understanding of what was the route to follow to get to the terminal. Eventually I figured that the orange and white interlinked bollards must indicate a safe passage for pedestrians to follow but there was directional signs or person available to confirm that presumption D) The distance to walk carrying hand luggage as a person on their own was was further than I presumed by the term mid stay and nearer to the terminal
My early arrival for departure in the early hours and in the dark , coupled with the Lack of directional signs caused me a major headache on my return . I was not sure how to get back to my car or indeed exactly where it actually was parked This lack of certainty caused me to walk a circuitous route back to the actual car park and then added an additional 45 minutes to my departure time as I fruitlessly tried to locate my car with no one in sight to ask for help All in all a stressful parking experience not to be repeated This from a frequent previous user of the long stay car park which has been a much easier and painless experience All in all a nightmare not to be repeated”
“Plenty of parking spaces available when I arrived and handy for the terminal building.
My plane was late coming home due to a cancellation I explained this to the attendant who was very understanding and helpful.”
