“So I’ve been searching for a good azelaic acid product for a long time now. Finacea 15% gel and Skinoren 20% cream were too heavy for me, and every cosmeceutical serum (The Ordinary, Paula’s Choice) also didn’t agree with my skin, they’re either ‘gritty’ in texture or just feel like a thick layer on my face. And for a while I just accepted the fact that, clearly, it was impossible to formulate azelaic acid in a way that made it both effective and pleasant-feeling on my oily, acne prone and easily congested skin. And then came Brightly serum. I was HIGHLY skeptical at first, given my previous disappointments, but also seeing the ‘creamy’ milky texture on the photos; here goes another thick cream, I thought. On the contrary. This is SO light. It’s lighter than most hydrating serums, and just leaves your skin feeling like - skin. No greasiness. No ‘grittiness’. No oiliness. No dryness, no ‘mattifying’ silicone-y mess. Just skin. And to make things better it’s not JUST azelaic acid, it’s also a 5% niacinamide serum. Truth be told, I can’t praise Ascorbyl Glucoside or Bakuchiol just yet given how I’m new to those two ‘novel’ ingredients, but I’m more than happy with the first two.
