“This is a remarkable product. It delivers azelaic acid in a format which is pleasurable to use (unlike some other OTC products) but goes exactly three steps further by including niacinamide (a well-rounded ingredient with myriad benefits with which any longstanding fans of Dr Sam will be sufficiently aquatinted), bakuchiol (the interesting retinol wannabe that appears to manage to mimic the key actions of retinoids while sidestepping the irritation typically associated with their category) and ascorbyl glucoside (a vitamin c derivative which, given the minimal data, could have been omitted without diminishing the overall value of the product but is a welcome addition nonetheless). A fantastic morning serum that adds that extra bit of control over breakouts treated with retinoids in the PM. My acne has been largely controlled through regular PM use of retinoids, but this serum gives me the confidence that comes from knowing that I'm not only treating/preventing my breakouts at night, but also actively addressing said condition throughout the day while simultaneously targeting my myriad other concerns including pigmentation, texture and fine lines (not to mention the added protection against free-radical damage conferred by the antioxidant qualities of all four star ingredients). “I love all of the amazing ingredients in this product. It's wonderful to have a serum that packs such a punch during the day. The only issue I have had with this product is the amount I use. I find that if I use too much, one pumps worth, the Dr. Sam Flawless Sunscreen will pill up when I apply it. This happens even after I allow Brightly to absorb into my skin before applying sunscreen. So, I have dialed the Brightly back to half a pump and the sunscreen goes on like a dream. I may begin to slowly increase the amount of Brightly to see if I can apply a little bit more without the sunscreen pilling up on me. But all in all, it's a wonderful product and is truly beneficial to my skin.”
