“I really like this sunscreen; it absorbs evenly and quickly, feels moisturising and doesn't leave a white cast. I do, however, get really frustrated with the pump, which works fine for the first week but then I need to squeeze the tube to get it to work properly (and I have experienced this difficulty with three tubes now). For a company that understands the importance of dosing your sunscreen properly this could really do with some improvement, but the sunscreen itself is brilliant.”
“I had watched Dr Sam on YT for a while before considering buying this and I am glad that I decided to take the plunge. It’s beautiful and light weight for my acne prone skin. However, like other reviewers, I have had some issues with the pump not dispensing product. To remedy this, I suggest to anyone else, squeeze the tube and press the pump at the same time. It seems to build up pressure and works smoothly.”
“This is a lovely addition to the range. No white cast, doesn’t irritate my skin and leaves your skin moisturised and glowing. Will definitely buy again. Only gripe is that sometimes it’s a bit hit and miss with using the pump but this is easily remedied with storing it the pump side up.”
“I love both versions, the tinted and untinted, but the tint is lovely for days when you want to look a bit more polished. Unlike other tints with SPF, this can be used for SPF top ups throughout the day whilst still providing a nice, natural base”
“Overall I like this sunscreen: it’s gentle with my sensitive skin and doesn’t clog my pores. It gives a pretty glow and the tint suits my light skin. I like that you exactly know the amount requested (6 pumps) to get the full protection.
Yet, applying 6 pumps is a bit too much for my combination skin (still more realistic than 3 pumps of the Flawless sunscreen which is way too heavy for me) so I tend to apply a first layer of another mineral sunscreen (two fingers) and then 3 pumps of Gossamer as a light base with additional protection.
There’s also an issue with how the pump works (without that I would have left 4 stars). When the product is new, the pump works fine and delivers the right amount of product. Yet, when the tube is half empty, the pump does not work that well, either not working at all or delivering a random amount of product, which is not a great user experience and messes with the dosage.
Might repurchase though because I like using it as a light base but I couldn’t rely on it as my single everyday SPF.”
“This is a great sunscreen for oily or combination skin. It does ball up easily when applying but I love it as its such a lovely and light sunscreen with a tint that's good for pale skin.”
“I love this product. It feels gorgeous when you apply it and leaves a beautiful, soft matte finish. It's an easy way to wear proper sun protection everyday. I am 55 and when I am wearing this my skin feels hydrated and comfortable. As my skin has many wrinkles, I can't really wear foundation anymore without it caking and looking terrible but Tint 1 gives just enough coverage to even out redness and make me look fresher and, perhaps, younger! I use this with the Brightly serum and, unlike one reviewer, I've had no problems with pilling, even with a full pump of the serum. (I apply the serum, then get dressed, and then apply the Flawless Gossamer, so I give the serum 5 to 10 mins to be absorbed.) Thoroughly recommend.”
“This is my second try, the first tube I received I had to discard but was refunded fully and promptly. There was clearly a fault with the batch when it launched as the second tube is completely different in texture. I like Gossamer, however, find a few minor issues. I am nearly halfway through the tube and the product doesn't dispense properly, I have to pump a few times to get any product out. The texture is elegant, but rather heavy. I can only use 3 pumps on my face and only on moisturised skin, otherwise the product sits in lines and is difficult to spread, I can not apply the full amount recommended. Also, I have to reduce the amount of Brightly underneath, otherwise Gossamer Tint 1 pills and rubs off. I haven't tried it underneath foundation, so don't know if it pills, I only need to use a little concealer working from home most days. Tint 1 is a little too pale for me and I don't really have tanned skin, it looks a bit white in patches, for very light skins this might be invisible. I will try Tint 2 when it is available again, although that might be too dark. I have no irritation or spots with Gossamer and I like the minimal coverage.”
