El Camaron Albarino delivers a pure expression of this coastal Spanish varietal, featuring vibrant yellow citrus, crisp minerality, and subtle saline nuances. Its light, refreshing palate is enhanced by hints of nectarine and warm nutmeg, offering impressive depth and layered texture. The Albarino grapes are sourced exclusively from vineyards within 8 km of the winery, situated in the premium Val do Salnés sub-zone of Rías Baixas. Most vineyard plots are perched on hillside slopes facing the Ría de Arousa and the nearby Atlantic Ocean, infusing the fruit with a signature saline freshness. The soils are predominantly granitic—decomposed and crumbly at the surface with rocky outcrops—offering excellent drainage and ideal growing conditions.Vines are traditionally trained on south-facing pergolas to optimize sunlight exposure and airflow. This training system increases leaf surface area for improved ripening while elevating grape clusters above the humid ground, reducing the risk of fungal diseases in this cool, wet maritime climate.A minimal intervention philosophy guides the winemaking process, with must movement handled entirely by gravity to preserve purity and finesse. Hand-harvested grapes are sorted and gently pressed at ground level. The chilled must undergoes short skin contact maceration to extract aromatic complexity.Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks located below ground level, using only indigenous yeasts. This slow, natural fermentation typically lasts around four weeks. The wine then rests on its lees for two weeks, with regular bâtonnage (stirring) to enhance mouthfeel and aromatic depth.Stabilization follows, with select vintages undergoing partial malolactic fermentation to balance acidity. The wine is bottled unfined and only lightly filtered, ensuring a clean yet authentic expression of Albariño.
