Method and Madness Irish Single Grain Whiskey is part of an experimental new range from Midleton Distillery. It is a whiskey that is concocted using the combined ideas of both Master and Apprentice distillers with the aim of pushing Irish whiskey in an exciting new direction. In this instance, pure grain whiskey has been matured in bourbon barrels and then transfered to virgin Spanish oak casks.It turns out that the combination works very well together with a fresh nose of shaved wood, floral petals and pine. The palate delivers toasted bread, grapefruit and woody spices leading to a fresh and spiced finish.
