A wine of remarkable intensity and balance, showing the true potential of Southern Italy. Intense, dark brooding fruit is given structure by soft integrated tannins and subtle oak ageing. Powerful but well poised, long and complex to finish.The Salento peninsula has hot, dry summers but cold, desert-like nights retard ripening and develop aromatic complexity in the fruit. Massimiliano attended the Locorotondo Institute and has since worked for producers in France, Spain and Italy. He puts this experience to good use in the family firm where he combines traditional techniques with the best of modern practices in order to carry the quality of the fruit through to the bottle. Total annual production is about 50,000 cases.With an eye to the world outside Italy, Massimiliano and Marcello are proud of the natural advantages they have in Salento and exploit these to produce distinctive and delicious wines of the highest quality.
