“I ordered this online and the delivery was very quick. I had spoken to the team via phone and had good service, so had gone ahead with the order. They advertised that the flue and reg plate were free within the online price. In fact the stove was the same cost even without the flue and plate ??? !!! Any way it arrived within the date agreed, that was fine. But I was a little worried when a sticker under the clingfilm rap stated it had been delivered to Direct Stoves in Aug 2017, this is June 2019. So they had had it for nearly 2 years. I wanted to confirm the specification hadn't changed since then ! After a phone call they said a 2019 version was the same spec as a 2017. So I was sort of ok with this. But when opening the box, the stove was manufactured in Nov 2016. So it had been kicking about for over 2 years. I decided to let it go. But then I found another site offering it for £80 less than I had paid for it, so I was a little upset again, would they price match after order placement even though the order had been placed only 3 days previous and I had taken delivery only approx 3 hours ago. (They do state they will price match on their website. But I assume it has to be at order stage) I spoke via phone and email, they said the other party would charge for a specified delivery slot, and the cost of the pipe and flue ( advertised as free) would come out at the same price I'd paid. So no luck :-( !!! When looking over the stove I found one of the firebricks damaged, so I asked them to replace this. Which they did very promptly, I expect direct from the manufacturer. However the brick may have chipped during the 2 years sitting around waiting for me to order it. But hey ho, its still got the warranty from delivery date. But I was left a little miffed with the response from them over the price difference and would have to think again to recommend or use again. Sorry but this is nothing about the stove, which is not installed yet, but looks a great little thing, well built and sturdy, time will tell how it performs !”
