“For delivery of such heavy items they need to offer a two man option to help people who cannot lift the heavy items into their homes alone. Even at an additional cost.
Mine arrived covered in leaves and soaking wet and had clearly been stored outside.
I arranged for someone to come and assist with assembling the fire to come the following day. On arrival he asked to see the diagram for putting it together as it just came in 7 pieces. No instructions or diagrams were provided and so he said he wasn't able to help until I got some. I am now out of pocket as I had to pay him for coming.
I have 2 pictures of the fire that were sent. One front on and one side view from their showroom installation. They are very little help and the top of the fireplace is heavy stone. The fire instructions that did come says that it is not load bearing. The pictures provided show the stone top on the fire and not secured to the wall.
The top I have has two brackets for screwing to the wall it seems.
The under fire "log store" needs assembling but doesn't seem to fit correctly. No adhesive is provided.
I totally regret buying this from the store and not surprised to learn the company they use for installations have offered to charge £450 on top of what i paid for the fire of just over £2.5k.
I now have to revisit the store to have a look at the showroom one to see how it is assembled, which is a 90 minute drive away.
They should not be selling items without assembly instructions and when asked, unable to provide any, that is when you can finally get through to someone on the phone.
So I am out of pocket paying for the man I booked to install it and having to rebook him when I get an idea of how it is assembled.
So disappointed with this as we have paid a lot for it and am now considering my options on returning it, and seeking a refund, either directly with the company or having to go through my credit card company”
