“We are please with the Charlton & Jenrick balanced flue gas fire and surround. However, we felt that the fitters were struggling to fit this unit as I got the impression that the gas engineer hadn’t fitted this particular type of gas fire. The overall process took a lot longer than expected ted and they couldn’t find the gas fire document to sign off the work until we showed this to them. Also the log fire bed wasn’t installed as shown in the C&J user manual and they did not leave any of the ember glow stuff as suggested for the next service as recommended in the C&J manual. We feel that the fitters should have known what gas fire was being replaced and with which one which they should have familiarity with. Overall some improvement in the fitting work is definitely recommended.”
