“The fire itself once the teething problems were sorted is excellent giving out a large amount of heat. Unfortunately, it is let down by extremely bad quality control during manufacture. The fire arrived with the canopy stained/marked and had to be replaced, there were numerous minor problems with the ignitor but taking them all together it took time to resolve as you only expect and look for one problem. The battery was poor quality and did not give out sufficient power to produce a spark (I would have expected a good quality such as Duracell to be included), there was no indication as to which way round the battery should be inserted, the spark gap was set such that the spark was away from the gas coming out of the pilot and failed to ignite the gas until it had been rectified. A simple query as to whether or not the igniter should continuously spark whilst the pilot button is held down for the mandatory 10 seconds took several weeks to answer. It is a great shame that the company does not resolve these issues during manufacture.”
