Drayton Manor Theme Park Reviews

Thomas Land is a great day out for kids great rides along with The Thomas and friends shows which are really fun and professional giving kids get the chance to meet and interact with Sir Topham Hatt, Dusty and Rusty (the station sweepers) after each performance and also during the day. There is also a great selection of rides for older kids and adults. Food is very pricy in the park and not great quality.

Great park with loads of fun rides. My oldest (15) loved Stormforce 10 and Shockwave while my youngest (5) loved all the Thomas Land rides. We did find ourselves queueing for sone bigger rides but no more than 45 mins.

Very poor experience overall. Highlights being easy and quick to get parked and short wait to get in to the park. Thomas Land was relatively good for the youngest (3 year old) but bored my 5 year old. Queues to get on the rides that the 5 year old could go on were excessive - when finally at the front of the queue it's clear that this is done by design. Not enough staff on to actually utilise the queue system properly (best example was Accelerator where there are queue barriers to get the next riders ready but without enough staff this wasn't used and so a long delay between 1 ride finishing and the next started). There are signs throughout about planning to make changes to "improve" our "experience" which is the same as doing nothing. If there are changes that could be made, make them. Acknowledging that you have a poor system is inaction. Eventually thought the only way we'd get on more than 3 rides through the day was to pay the clear afterthought of the fast pass. Then find that the fast pass queues were still long. Again, Accelerator, at times the fast pass queue took longer than the main queue! Having bought the 5 ride fast pass at noon, we hadn't managed to use all fast pass rides by closing... The Haunting - warnings that it runs in groups at 15 minute intervals (actually it's closer to 20 minutes), no suggestion as to how many were allowed in a group - you have to wait to then count how many get on, then count the queue in front of you to find "ah, still at least another 45 minutes then". Food is what you would expect from a theme park. No idea what the animals are like as all our time was spent queueing. I'd describe this theme park as a "poor man's Alton Towers" if it wasn't so expensive.

I have been coming to Drayton manor for over 25 years and been there through different stages and states of the park and every time I arrive it is with pure excitement, Drayton manor is a family park with few thrill rides if you are just looking for thrill rides the Drayton may not be for you but if you are looking for a fun family adventure then you should definitely consider here, I went a few days ago and the new investments are something to show you what the park has plans moving forward with the new owners. The only disappointment was the lack of places to sit and eat lunch under shelter while it was raining, it’s great when it’s dry just need some more sheltered places to sit and eat.

Me and my family took my 6 year old niece and 13 year old sister to Drayton Manor and we all had a fun day. My neice had never been to a theme park before but loved going on the rides in Thomas Land and exploring the zoo. She was even tall enough to try some of the big girl rides like Ben 10. Great day for the whole family and not too busy when we visited in September.

After reading a few negative reviews I felt obliged to post what an amazing time we have had today. Myself and our sons ( aged 3 and 7) took advantage of the ticket deal ( from this website). We visited Thomas Land, zoo and play park which was fantastic, then we went on to have lunch ( yummy) watched the 4 D film ( lots of surprises and only 30 mins long so perfect) then went on some family rides. Finishing the day with a play in the amusements ( they still have 2p machines so bargain) and very last thing we did was a play in the soft play area. We did this for a total cost of just under £60 for the three of us, I think a complete bargain!! The staff were extremely attentive, chatting to the boys and could not do enough for us....an absolutely AMAZING day and we will not only be recommending but also visiting again! Thank you Drayton Manor Park!
