Africa Alive! Reviews

The website was confusing to book tickets. Thought we had booked for the evening as advertised. No times on the ticket ( this was in July). We turned up and it was closed. After a month of trying to phone and email them to they said the ticket was none refundable. I have since the tried emailing to them and wrote the the CEO put no reply. Very poor customer service.

We took two children aged 9 and 4. We were experiencing a heatwave, therefore it was extremely hot for the children and they were reluctant to walk around all of the park, although they managed to find the 'clues' for their medal. However they did enjoy the road-train ride and the information from the driver was very good. The animals appeared well-kept, and had good space (unlike traditional 'zoos'). The park seems to have a breeding programme, and we wondered if any are returned to Africa? I understand that it is expensive to keep animals but the huge cost, over £70 (we realised later that we had not been offere 'senior tickets', despite being in our 70's), puts it out of the reach of many families. Refreshments are costly - £1.45 for a can of Pepsi, £1.95 for a Calipo and £1.90 for a Cornetto. We wish that, like many other families, we had taken our own!

A lovely day out exploring and learning about African animals. Great Lion enclosure And animal talks were fab. A great full day out. Birds of prey display well worth waiting for.
