“A fine museum developed and run by Volunteers, with a very large collection of WWII aircraft and aircraft parts; mostly salvaged from aircraft that have come to grief. These bring you in very close historical contact with the period and the Crews that flew and often perished in these planes. I found it particularly evocative that the museum has researched small biographies of the Crews and displays these together with the aircraft. This bridges the generations and humanizes the struggle: these youngsters went to war to defend the country. The biographies remind us what they sacrificed.”
