“I didn't even know about this place until about 6months ago. We went at the end of August. 2 adults, 2 children, both under 3. It was very hot. Not much shade, so if you get there early you can secure yourself a spot along by the bushes that surround the pond as that serves as shade. Short path from the car park before it goes onto sand (hard to push a buggy on so leaving it in the car would be a good idea).
Lots and lots of parking. It's a no display ticket, machine only takes card or pay on phone/ on app).
The sand was clean. The water was clean. There are security floating ropes in the water to avoid going in too deep. You can paddle or swim. There are toilets there and a small cafe kiosk. We loved our day there. Got quite busy but I think that showed it was a great place to go. By about 5pm the teenagers show up and people with disposable BBQs and loud music. I would have loved that sort of thing but now we have little ones its not quite the place to stay past 5pm.
