Chatsworth House & Farmyard Reviews

Recently took my kids to Chatsworth. Thought it looked a bit expensive initially, however we arrived at 10:30 and didnt leave until 6 (could have stayed all night)! The garden is huge and so much to see and do (kids loved splashing in the tree fountain). The farmyard and playground are great and although we bought a ticket that included the garden, playground and farmyard, you can go to just the playground and farmyard for £6 which seemed like very good value. Definitely need another trip before the summer's out.

I visited Chatsworth as a child many years ago and have always had fond memories so decided to take our kids as we were in the area. The house is as wonderful as ever (although not really for younger kids). The garden and farmyard are however very much for anyone aged between 1 week and 100 years! We were lucky with the weather, but it really was fabulous. The gardens are enormous and are so well kept. We were very much encouraged to roam where we wanted by a very helpful gardener (certainly no need to 'keep off the grass', its very much 'go where you like) which was great as we found all sorts of hidden treasures that the kids loved. There a great maze and a secret tunnel amongst lots of other things. We also went to the farmyard which has a huge adventure playground. We sat for two hours while the kids truly exhausted themselves. We will certainly be back!

A great day for all the family! A beautiful house with extensive gardens with loads for the children to explore including a fantastic maze and willow tree fountain. Loads of places for picnics. The farmyard is small but great with a fantastic adventure playground with everything for all ages. Great shops, restaurants and facilities.

What a beautiful estate Chatsworth is!! It is very massive and it could take the whole day to see but I would advise taking two days to see everything at one's pace and let the kids enjoy all there is to do in the Gardens and Farmyard. It is a fantastic day out for the whole family!! Inside the house is so well taken care of and all the artefacts are absolutely amazing! There was a giant foot broken off a statue that is over 2000 years old! There are many interesting facts and drawers that the kids could touch and investigate. The food is lovely in the restaurant! I loved that there was free milk! The walk around the gardens was magical and there was a massive maze to discover as well! Plenty for the kids to keep busy. They could even play in the cascade! Even I came home ready to take a nap! We will have to go back again to see the farmyard!

Beautiful place and lots to see, but not a whole lot to do for younger children at the main house and gardens. The farmyard and playground are great however and I would recommend a visit.

Visited the House and Christmas Market. House was amazing, themed on Charles Dickens. Staff were dressed in period costumes and actors were present at key points. Particularly enjoyed Fagin and Miss Haversham. Christmas Market was great lots and lots of stalls. Well worth the entrance fee
