Chillingham Castle Reviews

3.5 Rating 2 Reviews
“This castle is actually really nice and a different option if you don't fancy Alnwick castle. There is a lot on show including armoury, and each of the different areas have areas in which you can read about the history of the castle and its battles. However, if you have young children still in a pushchair, or anyone with mobility issues, it's an absolute no go. The steps are extremely difficult to navigate and the grounds are extremely uneven.”

“Chillingham Castle is one of the best UK castles I've been to with my family. My niece and nephew loved seeing the old dungeons and the torture chamber, although I found it a little eerie myself. There are lots of elaborately decorated rooms to see inside, and the castle lies in the grounds of beautiful gardens. They must spend lots of money and time on keeping it looking so elegant! There is even an on-site tearoom which serves delicious light meals and snacks, although be warned, it is a little expensive.”
