We love this museum and keep going back. It impresses as soon as you walk in the door with an early aeroplane hanging from the ceiling. There is a big Egyptology collection and also plenty of dinosaurs. Because the museum has been in Bristol for so long, there are a lot of old fashioned museum and collector treasures like some very odd taxidermy, including a quagga. The silverware section is really eye popping but my favourite is in the art collection where not only is there Banksy but also we saw the famous painting La Belle Dame Sans Merci. It is a big place with a tremendous quantity of interesting stuff and we just about ran out of energy to see it all in one day. It's not as interactive and modern as some places with fewer bells and buttons and actors on screens, but is a real treat for the eyes with so much beauty. We will be back.
