Although the cafe next to play area didn't have much food choice, although it did make a nice really appreciated decafe soya milk cappuccino ( breastfeeding for baby with dairy intolerance).
Although we carried our baby, noticed paths were good and pram friendly
I didn't need it on this occasion but didn't see a baby changing area..
Car parking area we're limited, even on an overcast day. So although they would come back to explore more, not in a full summer good weather day, as I think it will be too busy..”
“We went to Castle Park today during the warm weather at the start of the Easter holidays and it was just beautiful. We took our dog for a walk around the grounds, which were really picturesque and sat on a blanket on the grass while our 10 month old crawled around and watched the big children playing on the park and football. There was plenty of space for lots of families and groups of young people enjoying the sunshine. Everyone was social and very pleasant. We went for an ice cream at the cafe near the kids park which wasn't the nicest (my husband described it as sweet and grainy mashed potato) but it wasn't too expensive-£1.50. My husband took our baby boy to the park whilst I stood with the dog. It was very busy and not baby friendly but he went down the slide on my husband's lap and just enjoyed watching the other children playing. There is a bowling green next to the park and cafe so lots of things for different age groups. Our only issue was the post code takes you around the back which is the walking route rather than to the main car park entrance on Chester Road. Luckily my husband knows the roads as he drives through on his way home from work sometimes so we didn't get too lost for too long. We will definitely be going again and would highly recommend it for a nice free day out.”
