“Took a long drive to visit this castle and it was so worth it! Everyone enjoyed their day! We entered the castle after having lunch somewhere else because we wanted to avoid all the crowds. It is so well kept and beautiful! We began with a free tour that took us up to the top of the castle hill... BE WARNED it is a very steep slope to the top! I don't know how wheelchairs or pushchairs can make it up. Make sure you are wearing suitable shoes and take lots of breaks for the little ones.Once we got to the top it was breathtaking! Such an amazing view of Edinburgh! The rooms and areas were also very good and informative. It was great day out. I would say it's a visit of 3-4 hours.”
“Have been a few times and is steeped in history. Lovely day out in all weathers and something good to do. The entry to the castle is quite steep but there is good access in most areas. A little expensive for a family trip but still wirth a vist”
