“We went for the rhinos and luckily thats mostly what we saw. Having visited 9 years ago I had high hopes but in all honesty it was pretty disappointing in comparison. The safari was a bit pants we saw a camel up close and some rhino in enclosures. The giraffes were away behind a gate etc but when I went previously they were on the safari route right next to the vehicle. The baboons put on a show and we caught a glimpse of a lion. There were so many empty enclosures and lots of families were heard discussing the lack of animals. My 5 year old became bored quite quickly due to the lack of animals to see and was asking to go home only half way around the park; we preserved but honestly should have just listened to him. As a day out i think it was overpriced but due to it being a conservation charity I do not begrudge paying the price.”
“We as a family loved the port lypmne park, it is a nice day out with the kids, The way the kids received a flyer to tick the animal they see around while on the truck round made them really involved and curious. There are spaces to have a nice ice-cream or a coffee and a little play ground where they enjoyed themsleves”
“Very disappointed with this zoo. I took my toddler to enjoy his birthday but most on the animals on the tour was out of sight. Only hearing the tour guide mention the animals but they were either too far to see or completely not in sight. Staff were lovely just that what you get doesn't match the price. With that said, it's not a perfect place for toddlers. The upside is there's a lovely park for kids to play.”
