“We took a while to decide whether to go with tiles or acrylic for our splashback, fearing acrylic would be difficult to install to a high standard for an amateur DIYer. Such fears were unfounded. The sheets were delivered perfectly cut to size and were fixed with ease using CT1 construction fix / seal. The plug / light switch holes were made my first making a cardboard blank (using the box the sheets came in!) then transferring the areas to be cut to the acrylic using a sharpie pen (ensuring the hole is smaller than the socket and just larger than the screw holes). I cut the holds with a Bosch PMF190E with a plunge blade which the job, with a light sand to remove and rough edges. The result was superb and far more impressive than I could have achieved with tiles.”
