“Good product that protects older/younmger hands that are more sensitive though a little more expensive than the non-ripple hot cups. The only downside, like all disposable hot cups, is that Kraft claim they are recyclable. In practice, they are only recylable if you live close to one of the four locations in the UK that can seperate the paper cup from its plastic (polyethyne) coating on the inside that stops it leaking. Nearest place to me is Leeds, so not practical nor good environmentally to transport the used cups! All standard recycling plants cannot, and will not, attempt to recycle such products-they get rejected at the sorting coneyour belt. We have to put our in our general waste.”

We completely understand your concerns regarding recyclability and the limitations. The industry norm is to list all PE lined cups as 100% recyclable, but to be more transparent we specify in our web description that our PE lined cups are only recyclable ‘at specialist facilities’.
If you want to ensure that the cups you order can be recycled with mainstream paper, we do have our AQ lined options. We are also looking to expand our AQ range in the near future to widen our eco friendly offering.

“Best disposable hot cups for the elderly, good value too from Cups Direct but like all hot cups are not recyclable locally; this is due to the protective internal plastic film coating. The nearest recycle facility that can recycle didposable hot cups is in Leeds! This despite the manufacturers claiming they are easily recycled. Hence only 4 stars.”
