“I found it far more complicated than previous. I have always paid my insurance for the year up front. As it was just after Christmas I decided to pay monthly. I received repetitive emails and codes ect. I didn’t know who my insurance company was, I also had a credit company because I paid monthly (presumed it was the same company) then my break down company was separate again. When I chose the policy thought it would be managed by confused.com. Tried to cancel it and couldn’t. rang x 3. Asked for the policy to be sent, rang again yesterday evening. Told it may take 10 days, waited 8 up to now. I was then emailed my documents, can’t print them. Driving in 48 hours, weather is bad, no confirmation if I break down … I do have a number but would like the documents in my glove box.
I am older but can use the internet. Used online many times before to insure. Will always pay upfront in future and call before I pay to make sure it doesn’t take 10 days to get my documents. This experience has made me feel vulnerable as I don’t have any documents even though I paid for the insurance several weeks ago. I did this intentionally so I felt confident with the company and choose one that sent the documents before I started driving again. Very uncomfortable with the texts and codes re the credit confirmation. You checked my credit score (no problem) and then asking for codes ect that I couldn’t work out how to go from screen to screen. I am sure it’s good if you are young and IT savvy. Not for me again. Work with one company, pay in advance and use AA/ RAC or similar.”
