“This year I decided to go with a new insurer this year (Toyota) but since then my current insurer has given me a better price. When I contacted the new provider (cover starts on 1/3/25) they would not allow me to cancel my policy without paying a fee of £30! My policy has not even started and they say they charge a fee because I went through confused.com and even though I am well within my 14 day cooling off period they will still charge for a policy I have not used! It’s shocking, and clearly a money making scheme and a used a deterrent to stop people going to a better insurer. I would understand a fee IF I had started using their cover but as I write this review I am not with Toyota! Even my current insurer was shocked to hear this as I had to call them back up and cancel (they didn’t charge me for cancelling)! Very sneaky behaviour from such a big company like Toyota, I won’t be staying with them.”
