Excellent price for what appears to be a good policy. Had to include windscreen cover. Easy process. Only complaint is the fact that the quote lasts for such a short time and even wanting to try to make a tiny alteration to what I had put in- which I could not actually do- ended up with an increase in the premium. No idea how good their insurance actually is until I have to make a claim- so hopefully will never be able to finish reviewing them.

It’s a shame I have to go through Confused. Com to get a better quote each year.

I went through the process of buying a policy with Hastings Direct Motor via Confused.com and purchased a policy or so I thought. This has happened previously when I bought a policy with Hastings in 2020 & 2021. You go through the payment process after picking the policy and filling out the details and then you have to provide authorisation via your banking APP and so I thought it was then a done deal. For some reason its not and I'm not sure why. After I provided the banking APP authorisation and then getting an on screen confirmation I thought I would receive an email with the Policy No. and a link to the docs but NO!! I tried to set myself up on the APP because that's the policy i bought. Could not set myself up on APP in order to view the policy and docs. Very frustrating to say the least because I followed the instruction to the letter. Anyhow so I waited a couple of days before calling them and then went through to customer services. I informed him of the issues and he eventually resolved but it was thing as last time, they couldn't find that the payment had been made but eventually did, then told me that the policy had gone up but would not require any further payment and then he had to manually set me up on the system in order to generate the policy. The hassle and the headache. It should be as simple as you fill out the details, choose the policy you want, make the payment and once you have the confirmation the payment has been taken, the policy is then sent to you via email or a link in the email. job done. Bob's you uncle... All this other complication is an unnecessary waste of time. Not sure why this happens, maybe its because the policy is purchased via a 3 party, but if someone could look into and sort it out once and for all that would be cool. Thanks fellas.
