“Packing: necessarily a large box to accommodate the motor deck, but the other components were not secured by shaped cardboard inserts so they moved around alarmingly. The handle cut-outs in the box were clearly not strong enough to support its weight as one was badly torn, though luckily the resulting hole was not so big that any of the contents had escaped. Assembly: generally quite straightforward except that it wasn't at all clear from the diagrams and instructions as to which wing nuts should be used where: 2 had smaller washers whilst 2 had much larger washers. After much fiddling around, it appeared that the larger washers had to be used for connecting the middle handle to the lower handle, but this allowed the middle handle to pivot freely which struck me as very odd (I was expecting a rigid arrangement to lock in the desired angle) but no other configuration seemed to make sense. Use: for a "lightweight" mower it was quite a bit heavier than expected so the mowing method was just pushing it straight ahead (no side-to-side swing as with my previous, lighter, mower). My lawn is very uneven so probably doesn't benefit so much from the hover effect. Keeping the switch lever depressed in use was surprisingly tiring, but perhaps that was just because it was my first use of the mower and hopefully it'll get easier with practice. It was difficult to see how good the cut was due to the initial poor state of the grass, but the motor didn't struggle at all with the bigger clumps. The mower wasn't nearly as noisy as feared. Storage: to be honest, it's quite a faff loosening all the wing nuts in order to collapse the handle completely, and for me wasn't necessary. Instead, just undoing the two wing nuts securing the middle handle to the lower handle was sufficient to allow it to be rotated into position over the motor housing: the mower can then be stored with the deck vertical, balanced on the front of the deck and top of the handle. Summary: on the whole it seems to be a decent enough mower for the price. It is rather on the heavy side but that shouldn't be a problem if you have an even lawn for it to hover over.”

“I wanted a mulching mower and after looking at several other makes settled on this one. It does what it says on the box, cuts well, easy to handle, and glides well over my not so flat lawn. Not too noisy as well. The instruction booklet could be better, (see other reviews that mention the washers!)”

“The mower was easy to put together - diagrammatic instructions are on the last page for some reason. It cut the lawn and mulched exceptionally well including some patches of long grass. You will need ear muffs or ear plugs as recommended - screeches a bit on startup. There is some vibration through to the upper handle affecting a person with arthritis in the hands and wrists.”
