Vertool® Force Drive - Sonax Kit

This kit combines the all new Vertool® Force Drive Dual Action polisher and the fantastic Sonax Cut Max &  Sonax EX 04-06 Polish. The new Sonax polishes were developed specifically for use with Dual Action polishers gives a fantastic level of cut from yet finishes crystal clear, making this possible the perfect partnership. Advancements in polishing technology and process means this combination in conjunction with the German manufactured foam pads creates levels of correction and gloss previously impossible from a single polish and pad combination.

The Vertool Force Drive is a gear driven dual action polisher that offers the safety of a dual action polisher with the cut of a rotary.

Unlike regular dual action polishers, with the Vertool® Force Drive, the actual random oscillations are driven by the motor which means the polisher never slows or bogs down on curves and under load like traditional dual action polishers. However at the same time it retains all the safety and usability benefits of a dual action polisher. The lower rotational rate means that heat isn't generated as quick and that there is far less chance of generating holograms as part of the finishing process.

Importantly the polisher is supplied with two backing plates, both a 5 (125mm) & 6 (150mm) allowing far greater flexibility and pad choice as well as a high quality canvas carry case

Well I gave the Vertool Force Drive it's maiden run today. Used it with a Chemical Guys Blue Hexlogic Pad and Britemax Black Max Light Polishing Glaze, which is also a new product for me. I've never used a Flex 3401 so I can't compare the VFD to it. However I found the machine incredibly easy to use. I wouldn't say there is vibration from it but others who compare it against a F3401 say it has more vibration than the 3401. The VFD felt smooth to me and fairly easy to control. It will try to walk you a little bit when you go over a contour on your bonnet. However you just adjust to it and within 10 minutes it just feels normal. A harder pad may make a bit more of a difference as I found the blue pad would compress easy, even on vertical panels. On to vertical panels, the machine didn't feel any heavier than my old DAS6 (the original model with the 500w motor), and felt comfortable holding it both ways i.e hands top and bottom also left to right. I'm right handed but tried the machine left handed on the lower door panels and found that I could use the machine like this. I think this area on the car is the hardest to do as you are kneeling or sitting with the machine below you. So I'm really pleased with the VFD and I can't see me needing to buy another machine that takes 5.5" pads unless the VFD breaks at some point. I know that it isn't going to slow down on curves like my old DAS6. The DAS6 now has a 3" backing plate on it and will be used as a spot pad machine. I only look after our family cars 5 in total and know the VFD will handle any job the require from light polishing to serious corrections. Very happy with my purchase.

Top quality kit with great value for money, I have used both the flex 3401 VRG and after using this I'd easily say it's just as good, maybe even better when you factor in the cost difference, cutting power is amazing with very little heat generation. The machine really does feel similar to a rotary in the sense that if you're not holding the machine flat to a panel it will try and kick off. And the polish and pad combo included is top quality amazing cutting a finishing capabilities when used at the rights speeds. The machine finishes the paint down just as well as it cuts, very little effort and you have a mirror finish (provided you're using the correct products, speeds and the correct technique) the machine is also rather quiet given that the rotation is forced via a geared backing plate with minimal vibration. For anyone who is a serious enthusiast or even professional detailer I would highly recommend this kit. It also comes with a canvas carry bag with plenty of storage! Thank you CYC!
