This polisher is very lightweight, and extremely powerful. So much easier to use than the older heavy polishers. If you’ve used the older heavy polishers before you will be well aware of how they make your arms and shoulders ache after a while. These new lightweight polishers are a real delight to use. This polisher is a powerful device with an electronic 6 speeds. This unit is highly recommended.

I bought the DAS 6-PRO Dual Action polisher from CYC a couple of years ago and that has been and still is a great polisher but there have been times when despite using the heaviest cut pad and compound it just really struggles to cut down the paint/clear coat. So now with a fair bit of experience of machine polishing I thought it was time to step up to a rotary polisher and this EP801 looked like the best buy so I went for it and I’m so glad I did because it is brilliant. You can literally watch scratches disappear in seconds where with the DA you can be there for several minutes and still not get them out completely. It also is a fair bit quieter and so much smoother than the DA, using the DA after using the rotary feels like using pneumatic drill in comparison. It does however have some disadvantages, the one that is immediately apparent is it can be more difficult to control as it walks a lot more than the DA, I found doing horizontal surfaces and the roof particularly difficult, using the wool pad though is quite a lot easier to control than the foam pads. The other thing is if whenever you use anything more than a light cut pad with finishing polish there is a much greater risk of leaving buffing trails which is something I’ve never really had to worry about with the DA. There is also much greater risk of doing damage to the paint, you have to be very careful not to work the same area for too long as it can build up heat on the surface very quickly, but as long as you always keep it moving and keep checking the temperature of the area you are working is not getting too hot (simply by touching it with your hand) then even a total novice shouldn’t have any problems. Would I recommend the rotary over the DA? It’s hard to say, it depends on the job in hand, the amount of experience you have and to some degree the amount of patience you have, ideally it’s best to have both. If you’re totally inexperienced I would probably still go with the general consensus which is to start off with a DA for most people that will be more than enough. If you’ve got a DA and it’s not quite giving you the level of correction you want or you just want to be able to cut it quicker and easier then stop thinking about it and get one of these, you won’t regret it.

I bought the EP801 on the strength of other customer reviews and to put it bluntly they wasn't lying! This is everything that I wanted and more! Best features being the easy start, lightweight and long 5M lead. It's allowed me to really step up my detailing skills for a very small amount of money! Really is cheap as chips! If you want a rotary that is easy to use that offers finishes as good as more expensive machines on a budget, I wouldn't look any further. Great bit of kit. Only thing it needs extra is a carry case so it can be transported easily but for the price I'm super happy with it! Thumbs up to clean your car for a great bit of kit!

My only previous experience with a rotary polisher was with a borrowed one that retails at £400 plus. I wanted a similar one that was more affordable for day use. The main criteria were that it had to be lightweight, slow start and adjustable speed. The EP801 met all these requirements so I purchased one. I have used it very successfully and am not disappointed. I would recommend it without hesitation.

Bought this rotary after having bought a Silverline to try out last year. This is lighter, more ergonomical, smoother and easier machine to control than the Silverline. Especially due to the fact that you don't have to hold the trigger down to use it like my Silverline...A Big positive. If you buy the EP801 with the pad set, it makes an even better deal. If your new to rotary polishing, I can fully and whole heartily advise you to get this, especially adding the service you receive from CYC. Its a no brainer really!
