Meguiars Wheel Brightener
Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener is the product of choice for professionals looking for a powerful wheel cleaner that quickly and effectively removes tough brake dust. There is a thin line between effective cleaning and dangerous to use products; Wheel Brightener gives users the ultimate in flexibility, cleaning and safety with one product.
Meguiars Wheel Brightner is a professional strength product  and as such is a concentrated wheel cleaner which requires diluting depnding on the task to hand. It can be cut as far as 10:1 on delecate alloys, with a normal dilution ratio of 4:1 for general purpose use. On especially bad or burnt on deposits it can be used at  2:1 or even 1:1.
We wouldn't reccomend using Meguiars Wheel Brightner though if the alloy coatings are damaged or on polished rims, but on laquered wheels this makes for a great value and effective wheel cleaner.

Safe on clear coated, factory painted, & chrome wheels.
Easily removes brake dust.
Concentrated formula 4:1.
Not safe for polished aluminium.

3.78 Litre Bottle

This is a repeat buy and is used on my own mixed painted and laquered wheels as well as family alloy laquered wheels. It is easy to dilute and gives a first class finish. It can mark the glass on your specs if you splash upon them so be carefujl there - but do not let this put you off - I still recommend it.

Best product out there cuts through dirt like nothing else. Word of warning though it eats through any spray bottle if you use a high concentration, so always wash and rinse the sprayer after use!

I have been a car enthusiast and 'amateur' car detailer for the past 35 years and in that time used a plethora of different products. One product which has always been a product of great debate has been wheel cleaners. I have used most of them that are on the market with varying results, some have been very disappointing especially those that are considered by magazine reviews to the best on the market! Experience for me has realised that Meguairs Wheel Brightner when used correctly is up there with the best for overall wheel cleaning results

I've been using Meguiar's Wheel Brightener for some time now, and having tried several other wheel cleaners, I can honestly say this is the best one I have tried. The reasons I like it so much are two fold: 1: VALUE. It comes in a 3.78 litre bottle which you dilute 4:1 (4 parts water to 1 part Wheel Brightener) giving you a total of 18.9 litres of wheel cleaner! 18.9 litres for approximately £30! Compare that to Meguiar's ready mixed Hot Rims Wheel & Tyre Cleaner which is £10 for 710ml, and you see what a bargain this is. 2: CLEANING POWER. You llitteraly spray it on, leave it 30 seconds or agitate with a brush, then rinse off, that's it. Your wheels are left gleaming. Yes it's an acid based cleaner so I would imagine it will strip any sealants / waxes you put on your wheels, but if you clean them once a week with this stuff, you won't need to seal / wax your wheels. It won't get the absolutely baked on bits of dust off, you'll need a separate product for that, but if you've got clean wheels and want something for cleaning them on regular basis, look no further. I have uploaded the below video to YouTube to show how effective this was in cleaning my alloys that I had purposely not cleaned for 4 weeks: https://youtu.be/1y8SVQLNFuM

Works well and is pretty cheap when you realise it should be diluted 4:1 with water. I would prefer it if it were a little more "foamy" and it could be worked into a lather but never the less, it's a very good product.
