Bilt Hamber - Korrosol Iron Remover

Bilt Hamber Korrosol is a controlled pH non-alkaline fallout remover for the safe and effective removal of embedded metallic particles that contaminate the vast majority of road going vehicles. You may not have noticed by looking at your paintwork, but next time it’s washed and clean lightly feel the paintwork, especially the horizontal panels; bonnet, boot lid, roof etc. Very gently with finger tip touch you’ll be able to feel a rough grittiness. You may well think this is dust landed from the air – it’s not. Airborne metallic particles liberated by braking surfaces, such as pads and discs fill the air along our roads, when hot after the car in front of you brakes your car travels through them, as a result they embed themselves in your paintwork.

Once on the paintwork,  they react with rainwater or air moisture and begin to corrode and as the corrosion product (rust) occupies four times the space of iron the paint is slowly ruptured around the embedded particle. This action destroys both the aesthetic and protective qualities of the finish.

While harsh acids such as phosphoric and oxalic acids maybe use with good effect to remove the contamination, these acids to not discriminate between corrosion and good steel not even paint films themselves, so while the particle is removed and base metals or coatings can also be attacked. korrosol’s effective formula is simply sprayed onto the contaminated panel a rapid and dramatic colour change takes place which indicates that the corroded part is water soluble after which a rinse with water leaves the panel free of metallic embedment.

Bilt Hamber Korrosol is safe to use on all auto body paint finishes including lacquers.

ive tried a few fallout removers but Korrosol is the best one I've used to date. Not only does it be very aggressive on brake dust and iron particles but it is incredibly gentle on paintwork and rims. Will definitely buy again.

This was my first experience with iron residue removers and I was impressed how easy it was to make wheels look clean. I quess I can recommend this product although I have no experience from competitive products.

A good iron-remover. In my experience, it de-irons as well as Iron X, but clings better and smells nicer. Recommended.

I've been using this for 2 years or more now, and never fail to be impressed by its fallout removal properties. My wife's new BMW was supplied with a heavy layer of iron contamination and this went straight on and pulled it straight off. On wheels, it turns them bright pink with all the brake metal fallout they attract, and spraying it onto the body of a well used white car turns the areas immediately behind all 4 wheels bright pink, as does the tailgate. As my wife's car is parked near a rail track during the working day, the amount of iron this removes from all of her her paint is quite scary! Heartily recommended: as Ronseal says 'it does what it says on the tin(bottle)'!ere...

I have been delighted with the results from iron-x but thought I'd give this a go on my new one series. The bleeding was significant in parts, particularly the wheels and a nasty mark on the bonnet and it still stinks to high heaven. On the upside it made claying the car much easier so IMHO its worth the money just for that.
