Auto-Clay is a revolutionary clay made here in the UK. Auto-Clay provides a method of removing harmful contamination from vehicle paint finishes, improving its durability and increasing the gloss level of subsequent waxes.

All paint finishes are subject to contamination from a variety of chemical, industrial and environmental pollutions, such as tree sap, bird droppings, salt, acid rain and metal flake particles. Even volcanic ash fallout! These pollutants cannot be removed by washing and polishing, they require a clay bar specifically designed to lift these particles away from the paintwork. If left untreated these contaminants bond with the paintwork and can cause harm as well as being unsightly. In addition, any vehicle being prepared for layers of wax or sealant should be clayed completely prior to wax application. This removes the contaminants and provides a clean, smooth surface for the wax to adhere effectively.

Bilt Hamber Auto-clay is available in regular, medium and soft grades. Regular for intensive cleaning of moderate to heavy contamination and / or summer use, soft clay is designed for more frequent and / or winter use and medium clay is suitable for all round use. All grades contain exactly the same particle size and low moh's hardness pure mineral filler.

Bilt-Hamber clay bars use ordinary tap water as a lubricating agent, rather than a quick detailer and contains no surfactants, such as powdered detergents or soaps, and is therefore extremely kind to your paintwork.

“Another smasher from Bilt Hammer! You can use it with just water but so far I've only tried it with clay lube - just in case but many do just use water. Very aggressive but at the same time gentle on paint, it's almost like a medium-soft clay”

“This is my first venture into claying, and I am not disappointed with the product. It has the right consistency, being quiet hard to start with, so it can remove all contaminants. Yet it is fairly easy to mould into a mini pancake for use. So far, I have only clayed a few panels and the back window, but it has been very effective in removing brownish contaminants. I love the fact the you can use it with plain water, so I keep a filled spray bottle handy. You can literally hear and feel the rough paint to start with, and after a few rubs the sound disappears and the surface feels super smooth. Excellent product.”

“Absolutely brilliant! After I washed the car I cut the clay bar into 3. 1/3 of it did the whole car! As long as you keep the area well lubricated with water, the clay removes all contaminants leaving the paint super smooth, very impressed! Cannot go wrong for the price as I have 2/3 of it left.”

“This is the best valeting product I've bought I'm a long time. I wanted to machine polish my car an watched a load of videos on prep so decided to buy this. The price is no reflection on quality although I don't have anything to compare it too. I was surprised what it actually remove from the paint considering I thought my car was clean. It takes out the little surface contaminants like tar and those strange little red spots that appear. Paintwork is vastly improved even before polishing. I'll never be without it from now on. Delivery and service from the guys was second to none. Definitely be a regular customer.”
