It is very highly-concentrated, meaning that much less solution is needed to add to the water. In fact, a single shampoo can be carried out with just a single teaspoon of auto-wash, meaning one wash will cost you around 16p!

Bilt Hamber Auto wash is ideal for use after a foam pre-wash with Bilt Hamber Auto Foam or Bilt Hamber Touch-Less
Bilt Hamber Auto-wash is a highly concentrated car shampoo - just a 5ml spoonful (1 teaspoon to a 10 litre bucket) is sufficient. The standard instructions for Auto-Wash are to put 5ml of Auto-Wash in a bucket, and fill with up to 10 litres of warm, fast flowing water to generate a lather. The suggested dilution ratio is 1:2000.
Its low viscosity ensures it pours easily – the measured amount should be emptied into a clean bucket before adding the warm water thus generating a thick lather for paintwork cleaning.
Bilt Hamber Auto-wash can be used neat as a pre-wash spot cleaner using a clean swab for removal of very stubborn oily films.

From a technical standpoint, the lack of colourants, waxes, perfumes, or thickeners is a big part of its appeal. What you’re left with is a highly concentrated, surfactant-driven shampoo that focuses purely on cleaning. At just 10–20ml in a full 20-litre bucket, it delivers impressive lubricity and dirt release without leaving anything behind on the paint.
In use, it feels slick without being artificially thick, rinses cleanly, and works well on protected and unprotected surfaces alike. That makes it particularly well suited to regular maintenance washes, especially if you’re running waxes, sealants, or coatings and don’t want them masked or interfered with.
It also slots perfectly into a safe wash process after a strong pre-wash. We often use it following Bilt Hamber Touch-Less or Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam, as the pre-wash does the heavy lifting and Auto Wash finishes the job with plenty of glide and a clean rinse.
