“I chose Thrifty as part of the Hertz group being a renowned, long standing company who would be professional and respectful in their dealings. I sadly couldn't have been more wrong. The man at the desk was friendly and helpful right up until I politely declined the additional insurance he wished to sell me, advising I had my own additional insurance. He tried to suggest my policy was no good and not comparable to theirs. He then continued to bang on his keyboard and almost throw my documents back at me. Things then got very much worse when unfortunately my credit card was declined due to incorrect pin. My fault entirely but he then sneered at me when I tried another card, same issue. He told me the order was cancelled as I had been rude and disrespectful towards him, nothing was further from truth. Yes I was cross but with myself! I asked if he was prepared to just leave 2 women stranded at the airport in a foreign country without help and he said HE DIDNT CARE! I was absolutely taken aback at this. He relented and said phone your bank then come back. I did and was assured sorted but felt desperately worried to try again due to the attitude of this man. Unfortunately the card still didn't go through and he almost laughed at me. He then waved me away and was sarcastic in his manner and, in my opinion, misogynistic. He refused to give me his name and said there was no manager today when I requested. His colleague also refused to give me his name due to 'data protection' despite them knowing all my details. The whole experience left me shaken and tearful and I would never ever return. I'll choose a cheaper company next time.”
