“We have a medium sized glass pot that we like very much that makes two cups. I assumed this was 600ml so I ordered the 900ml pot. Alas, the two cup pot is the 900ml which sounds odd given that a cup of tea shouldn't be much more than 250ml. Anyway, we now have two teapots the same size. Rather than deal with the hassle of returning it we'll keep it as backup - they are glass after all.
In general I think you should clearly indicate that the true volume isn't actually as much as the stated volume.
