“Got to control aptasia in the main tank, seems to work with a couple of passes. As mentioned online it can give hand fatigue holding the button down for so long but a minor inconvenience I can live with.”
“I have a couple of issues with this device. It is well built & certainly so far seems to do the job well. One issue is that you cannot see the light emitted when you have the aquarium lights on so I recommend that you only use when lights are out, which can then make it difficult to see what you are trying to eradicate. I also find that as you have to hold the button down for 60 seconds at a time it's not long before you finger gets sore & you need to rest it for a while especially if you have a number of items you want to eradicate at the same time.”
“Purchased after reading lots of reviews, had a cluster of aptasia in my reef tank and aptasia-x just always seemed to spread the problem. So after alot of review reading decided to purchase and with 30.00 off even better. I had been in touch with ITC before purchasing and they recommended hitting aptasia for at least 90 seconds. When this arrived the battery takes about 3 hours to charge, really well made and feels like a quality product. I had some huge aptasia with some having heads as big as 30mm across and stretching about 60mm from the rock work! I blasted the aptasia for 4 minutes on each and you can see it really does not like and begins to pull away but I just kept this device on them. After the first night of dosing for around 45 minutes in the tank I was quite happy with the damage the reef delete had caused. The second night I blasted for another 4 minutes on each and now they were looking very sick! Night 3 and my thumb was now rather sensitive like other users had reported but tonight was the last dosing and they had completely shrivelled up and dyed. The tank looks great and I am very pleased with the result. I only now wait to see if more appear through spores released but ITC claims this device will badly damage the spores making them unable to take hold! The item is pricey but so far I'm happy with how well it killed my massive aptasia and didnt take as many treatments as I expected. It's great fun to use and does make you feel good watching the aptasia disappear!!! 5 stars, expensive but worth it.”
