“I've had a few air pumps which promise ultra quiet running, rarely do they hold up to that claim but the eheim 3702 can back it up.
Made from high density rubber from maximum insulation against noise. The body is fitted with holes for the mounting suckers although I've opted to hang the air pump from the hanging loop.
The power cable is a decent length. included are 2 air bubbler heads (see my other review on the bubbler heads) sadly you only get one piece of tubing around 1 meter in length, as the unit comes with 2 air outlets I'd have thought 2 pieces of air tube would be a good idea. Perhaps it is and I was missing a piece of tubing, likewise the "included hanging hook" was also missing. But these are small issues and have no impact on the pumps ability be ultra quiet.
The dual outlets are controlled on their own adjustment dial. However running both at full power only gives medium size bubbles from each head, but dial one up and one down and you can create 2 types of bubble streams in your tank. I use 1 airline in the display tank & 1 in my refugium.
I cannot comment on the units ability to run so quiet when not hung as I've never tried to mount the unit on the suckers.
But if you have the space for a large hanging air pump that is ultra quiet you cannot go wrong with the eheim 3702 air pump.
This air pump comes in a number of sizes so make sure you get the right size air pump by calling charter house and asking what size would be suitable for your requirements.”
