“I use these filter pads in a turtle tank, and due to turtles being rather dirty the fine pads need replacing every week or so, unless they can be rinsed out - which I have not found possible with the cheaper generic products available, as those are usually thinner and less robust. The Eheim product has a good texture and keeps it's shape well, so tends to last a bit longer. However, for a turtle set-up it does work out expensively, so I am always trying out other options. With just a few small fish, it may be a lot cheaper as the fine pads would last longer.”
