“After searching around for a review of the Maxspect L260 I was left confused as all I could find was reviews of the L165. The L260 & L290 are the newest lights in the Maxspect jump series.
They use the same LED lighting array in the same 3 x 3 (L260) & 4 x 4 (L290)
This light is great for the money, as included in the cost is a metal 2 piece bracket that fits glass 5mm and upwards to around 16mm with no extra parts needed.
Getting started is easy, the box & manual and the light its self all have a QR code for the Maxspect app (IOS & Android).
Connection was easy enough, although there was an issue when adding the light in auto mode. As the light asks for a Password we had no idea what password, we tried our router password, not that there was no password or barcode/QR to scan for a password, so we added manually. Easy press the twos on the light & away you go.
The app is a little confusing compared to the likes of Aqua Illuminations “my AI” app. But the ligh was up and running on a custom schedule.
There are lots of automated options like lunar/moon & acclamation mode.
The one thing I would recommend is the light hood. Due to the size of the light if you are sitting below the lights level you’ll have the lights in your field of view.
The included brackets allows for a massive range in height & distance setting for front to back. The fan when running is near silent, but I suspect like all fans it will get louder over time.
All in all for the price this light offers exceptional quality. Build seems solid, but time will tell, but out the box it’s certainly a winner.”
“Great light for the price. I bought the light to upgrade an 80 ltr nano I am currently setting and cycling. The PAR is capable of supporting SPS corals (although I can't confirm yet has not at that stage). The app wifi control is super easy to use, with presets or fully bespoke settings. In addition, it is sleek unlike some bulky alternatives. Installation was easy and comes with gooseneck bracket, which some lights don't and have to be bought separately. Having run other systems I am impressed with technology.”
