“A bit of a mixed feeling really. Easy enough to put together but after about two days the water sensor stared to fail intermittently. Luckily, this model comes with a safety sensor that stopped the water from overfilling and sounded an audible alarm. Cleaning and unplugging the unit for a number of hours has fixed the problem for a next couple of hours. It has failed 3x in a week. Charterhouse Aquatics have sent a replacement unit (they paid for delivery of new as well as collection of old unit) and this has been running for a week without any hiccups whatsoever.
Cons: Because of this malfunction, I have installed a mechanical float valve as a back up should this failure happen again. Maybe I am a bit overcautious but I prefer my living room floor water-free. I own 5 TMC products and every time there was either something missing in the box or broken. The products themselves are really nice but it appears that TMC does not believe in quality control.
Pros: A great little unit. It doses the water very precisely. I really like the mute function allowing you to silence the alarm when water in the sump suddenly increases, which happens during water changes. As soon as the water level returns back to the normal the alarm resumes automatically. So no more forgetting to plug the unit back in after water change as it is common with other units.”
“had this for just over a week now and its so much better than the float type ones.
it has 2 sensors on it one for the waster level and one for the overflow that cutts the pump off and sounds an alarm.
I would recommend wiping the sensors down once a month.
all in all im very happy with it so far.”
“Hasn't been on too long but the water tops off very accurately. Checked the over fill safety feature a couple of times when shutting off return pump and all works well. Would recommend”
