I have always been wary of nitrifying bacteria products. Many are ineffective. I have used FritzZyme Turbostart 700 on two occasions now, and both times it has reduced my fishless cycling from weeks to days. Expensive but worth it if you are impatient waiting for a tank to cycle.

Bought this to fishless cycle a new tank after reading comparisons on a forum. Dosed the tank to 2ppm ammonia with Dr Tim's, and then added this. Within 48 hours, ammonia and nitrites were zero, and a bacterial bloom occurred, which cleared up after three days. After that, added live stock! No issues at all, and tank remained cycled (monitored with Seneye and API test kit) After this, I upgraded to a larger tank for my tropical community tank, but did not transfer the filter or substrate, instead, knowing that the bottle was viable, I setup the new tank as though it was new, added this product, and moved all plants/decorations/livestock straight after. Again no ammonia/nitrites showed on testing, and I'm just super impressed. This is absolutely my go to product for cycling tanks now!

After months of persisting low level ammonia in my planted tank, the use of several different bottles of nitrifying bacteria including the brands own Fritz Zyme 7, none of which worked, Turbostart had my ammonia down to 0 in 3 days & a slight rise in nitrites for 3 days (0.25 ppm) followed by 0 levels. Result! Definitely the way to go.
