“Powerful small pump, easy to fit as a replacement in my Fluvel Flex, however it is certainly not quiet. Despite repositioning it several times and putting it on sponge it has just got noisier.”
“Eheims pumps are the most reliable you can buy. My only gripe with this pump is when you attach the alternative external filter tube to the inlet hole it is a very flimsy connection which easily becomes dislodged, hence the 4 rather than 5 stars.”
“The Eheim CompactON 600 is a real disappointment. I have a Fluval Flex 57 aquarium and the integral filter pump is irritatingly noisy as it vibrates in the pump compartment and nothing I have tried (including wrapping the pump in foam) has stopped that noise. So, I was delighted to find and buy the Eheim CompactON 600 which describes itself as "Silent". On the plus side, the Eheim is nicely compact and it is possible to regulate the water flow. However, the big negative is that it is NOT "Silent" at all. Indeed it is MUCH noisier than the Fluval pump. This is because it vibrates excessively. I assume that this must be due to the impeller spindle being out of true which, for a German manufactured product, I found very surprising. As the ONLY reason that I bought this Eheim pump was because of the advertised "Silent" feature, it has proved to be completely useless to me and I shall be consigning it to the bin.”
