“I bought these slippers for my husbands birthday a few weeks ago and did not open the parcel until last week on his actual birthday, They certainly were not what I wanted, much too flimsy and no solid sole. I was very disappointed, he did wear them for a few hours around the house even though they were a half size too large, and of course, the soles now have marks on them so I can’t return and ask for a refund. Certainly not worth £55 !”

We would have been happy to have accepted them back unworn and are sorry that you did not open them earlier to return for refund. As you have stated that they are too large, you may find that putting an insole inside reduces the area making them more snug and makes the footbed a little more solid for your husband.
