OrganoWood Repellent 02 is a water based treatment that protects against dirt, water and damp. It is made up of organic silicon polymers and natural growth substances without the addition of toxic heavy metals or biocides. OrganoWood Repellent 02 is specifically designed for superficial treatment of OrganoWood timber but can also be used in combination with OrganoWood Protector 01, as part of a complete protection system for untreated pine and fir. In addition, OrganoWood Repellent 02 may also be used as a highly effective wood oil on other types of wood such as traditional pressured impregnated wood, larch and pine. OrganoWood Repellent 02 is absorbed into the fibres of the wood to create an extremely water repellent surface preventing damp, water and dirt from penetrating. In addition, movement of damp within the wood is also reduced, therefore decreasing the generation of new cracks. “Like the Organowood No1 this is a clear liquid and the first coat was easy to apply using a brush, soaking in readily. The second coat was somewhat humourous, since the surface was now fairly water repellent the second coat takes a little brushing to get it to soak in, it has a tendancy to just run off vertical surfaces. A roller may be the answer on larger areas. Anyway, the combination of Organowood No1 and No2 seems to be doing its job, rain is suitably repelled, Hedgehog wee fails to soak in and is easy to mop up in the morning. The colour is quite nice, the wood has developed a weathered look a bit like a wild west saloon. Luckily my hedgehogs are seldom seen with Stetsons and Sixguns!”
