The Rain Collector mounts directly to the downpipe for highly efficient collection of rainwater, and is quick and easy to install. The Rain Collector fits all standard UK round downpipe sizes 68mm to 100mm and 65mm square downpipes. This is designed as a universal rainwater diverter, the installer will need to cut the top of the unit to suit the downpipe size - guidelines are etched into the top of the unit. This economical rainwater diverter collects rainwater while filtering out leaves and large debris. The debris then continues on down the downpipe, along with overflowing water when your water butt is full.   Outlet fits 32mm (1 1/4") pipes or hose. THIS UNIT COMES WITHOUT HOSE AND IS DESIGNED FOR CONNECTION TO YOUR OWN HOSE ASSEMBLY, OR DIRECTLY TO TANK WHERE AND WHEN POSSIBLE. For fitting to all water butts and thin-walled tanks up to 30cm from the downpipe, please choose the Rain Collector with Universal Link Kit instead, or contact us for hose sizes and other co...

So handy for stopping water butts overflowing in winter, or for diverting grey water to them when you’re desperate in summer. One star knocked off as the on/off control can be stiff.

Hi Laura, thanks for your review. We’re really glad you are enjoying the benefits of the rain collector diverter. Sorry to hear the on/off control was stiff on your unit. We will feed this information back to the manufacturer. Kind regards, Celtic Sustainables

Very well designed and robust all-plastic rain collector to fit a wide range of downpipe diameters. My gutters and downpipes are of a modern galvanised design and the usual rain diverters are too narrow. This item works very well, it filled a 210 litre butt overnight in the recent wet weather. The only difficulty was cutting the section of steel pipe out. It was tricky, but either a hacksaw or an electric jigsaw got the job done. The instructions didnt give the exact measurements for the cut-out of the downpipe either, which would have been helpful. Would buy again though.

Oh, I thought I was reviewing this on the previous screen, but as there is no back button, I can't go back now. So I'll just repeat what I wrote the first time: This review is for a rainwater diverter supplied by Celtic Sustainables. The product in question is a 3P TECHNIK Rain Collector. My opinion after fitting it is that it is poorly designed on three counts: 1. The flange underneath to fit over the lower drainpipe section is far too shallow, meaning that the item never sits nice and square over the pipe. The flange needs to be at least 10mm deep, not the 3 or 4mm it is. 2. The top cover should be prescored, as cutting the required 68mm hole with a Stanley knife or similar takes a LOT of effort and is potentially very dangerous. 3. The outlet boss is far too big for hoses/plastic tubes typically available in the UK. It is 32mm in diameter. I have searched for three weeks to find a suitable hose to connect to the water butt. 3P Technik should have marketed the product as a complete kit containing the correct hose. Therefore, I do not recommend the above product.
