“Kit works very well and is easy to fit, even for a wheelchair user who isn't adept at DIY. The only difficulty is that many downpipes are too close to the house wall to connect to a water butt via a short and rather rigid pipe, unless the butt has a flat back (unlikely with plastic construction, as they tend to bulge when filled), or it doesn't need to be sited against the wall. I managed with the pipe supplied with the kit, but I had to pull the downpipe out of alignment to do so. Next time I'm at the garden centre, I'll buy a 60cm length of slightly more flexible pond pipe, which will work better.”

“It wasn't clear from the online information just how much space I had to allow around the downpipe, both for fitting and for removing the filter collectore. When we next have builders in, we'll get a new downpipe with a bend fitted.”
